Flora Ruchat-Roncati has been full Professor of Architecture and Design in the Department of Architecture at the ETH Zurich since October 1, 1985. Prof. Ruchat was born on June 4, 1937 and received her degree in architecture from the ETH Zurich in 1961. In 1962 she became a practicing architect. After ten years in the office of Galfetti-Ruchat-Trümpy she transferred in 1975 to Rome, where she was responsible for design in the «Lega nazionale Coop. Abitazioni». During this time she also gained experience in teaching as guest lecturer at the ETH Zurich from 1979/1981 and at seminars and design courses in various faculties of architecture throughout Europe and the USA. In 1985 she was appointed Professor Ordinarius of Architecture and Design at the ETH Zurich. In parallel to teaching, she has maintained a professional practice since 1987 at Schnebli-Ammann-Ruchat, Zurich. In Agno she is also a self-employed architect.
